Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC)
Exceptional Water Retention: Possesses water-retention capabilities twice that of methylcellulose (MC), significantly reducing water loss, cracking, and hollowing in mortars and putties.
Thickening and Stabilization: Non-ionic in nature; exhibits excellent resistance to salts and pH variations (2–12), maintaining stable viscosity even in high-salinity environments. Highly compatible with HPMC, PVA, and starch ethers.
Flexible Film Formation: Forms a transparent, flexible, and water-resistant film, thereby enhancing bonding strength and crack resistance.
Mold Resistance and Durability: A natural cellulose ether that resists microbial degradation, ensuring a long shelf life.

Gypsum-based Products (Paired with Retarders): Offers retardation, water retention, and increased flexibility; improves workability and prevents cracking; yields optimal results when compounded with gypsum retarders.
