The metal case is the exterior (or frame) of the oil seal, the principal function of which is to give rigidity and strength to the seal. The material of the case must be selected depending on the environment where the seals are to be used. Often the metal case is covered by the same rubber material used in the sealing element, which also helps seal the exterior of the oil seal in the housing bore. Common case material types are:
An oil seal is a device used to prevent dirt, dust, water, or any other foreign matter from contaminating shafts and bearings in the rotary shaft equipment. Also known as a shaft seal or dirt seal, it also blocks the leakage of lubricants such as grease and oil along a rotating shaft.
Oil seals are an essential component of many industrial machines and equipment. They play a crucial role in preventing oil leaks, protecting bearings and other crucial parts from contamination, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the machinery. One popular and widely-used size of oil seal is the 75x100x10 model.

PTFE oil seals are a testament to engineering innovation. The unique properties of PTFE make it an ideal material for these seals. Its non-stick surface ensures minimal resistance during the rotation or movement, thereby enhancing the efficiency of machinery. Furthermore, PTFE's excellent chemical inertness allows it to withstand exposure to a wide range of lubricants and oils, preventing degradation and prolonging the lifespan of the seal. The performance of a vehicle significantly depends on the health of its spark plugs. Worn or dirty spark plugs can lead to reduced fuel efficiency, engine misfires, rough idling, and even complete engine failure. Therefore, regular maintenance, including checking and replacing spark plugs as needed, is crucial for optimal car performance.
Standard springs are made of carbon steel. We use stainless-steel springs for our GR and GRST oil seals made from FKM rubber. In some rare cases, an O-ring is even used as a spring element. Standard PTFE lip seals are not fitted with springs.
